Objectives

The objectives of this module are to educate the students in the principles of building physics, energy use in buildings and technology approaches to design and manage buildings in a sustainable way.

Learning outcomes

An advanced understanding of the environmental physics of buildings, technical approaches and the use of design software to promote an energy efficient design and achieve an integrated low energy building design.

Syllabus

Advanced theory and practice in Building Physics and Building Energy technologies. Syllabus includes heat and mass transfer processes in buildings, Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning Systems, indoor air quality, Energy efficient building design, Transient analysis of thermal performance, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Commissioning, Renewable Energy.
